I have to accept that I didn’t read spec carefully. But I don’t understand the reason that they don’t provide a dock for classic 160g. I don’t think it’s too thick to provide a dock. I took for granted that all classic is supported including my ipod.

First off, due to the location of the plug in the car; the RoadTrip simply can not hold the iPhone vertically. Second, it can not automatically find an empty station as advertised. Thirdly, even when an empty station is selected manually; it does not work – usually all I got was static. Maybe I got a defective unit. I returned it to Amazon for a refund, which is a really cool feature of buying on Amazon.

Griffin RoadTrip FM Transmitter for iPhone and iPod (Black)
This product does not work well in the state of Iowa and ANTOline will not take it back because they obviously don’t take ANY returns. There is nothing wrong with the packaging and this product might work for someone else-somewhere else so they could resell it but they are a company we will never deal with again. It has also given us a very bad taste of Amazon.
This was a Christmas present that has gone horridly bad!!

Sorry for the two stars. I do like and use the RoadTrip as a charging stand in my car but the performance of the FM transmitter is so poor that I have taken to plugging my cassette tape adapter into the speaker jack instead. There are three FM presets. I can’t find three frequencies that will get me through my 30 minute commute. For a lot less money and a little bit more effort each day I could have gotten a suction cup to hold the iPhone where I can see it.
Perhaps this device would work well in a more rural setting but I can not recommend it to others.

Driving a 02 Maxima (pre AUX outlet) I was forced to buy this product ($99. 00 at Best Buy) since I wanted to listen to my ipod thru my iphone.
The mounting neck is too short, turns left and right as you turn left and right driving, and is very inflexible. The slightest jar disconnects
your iphone from the stand (I was even forced to use rubber bands to get a more secure fit – my son refused to sit shotgun due this embarrassment!). The accessible FM stations change from
day to day, and the sound distortion is awful. Often, the recommended frequency permits no audio at all. Don’t even think about buying this product.
It now sits on the back floor. thrown there in utter disgust as my iphone’s ipod kept going on and off connection. A totally useless product!
