It's much smaller than the DVD player it replaced, and produces excellent sound and picture quality compared to other sub-$40 players. There isn't much in the way of face controls (in case the remote is lost) but that's typical of this price range, and better won't be found without spending more. My favorite thing about this DVD player is that it has a *real* power button on its face. That's right, you don't have to leave it in standby mode, slowly sucking up power and raising your bill when not in use. No messing with cords or turning it off at the surge protector. One glitch. Second dvd, also brand new. few brief skips, several glitches. Third dvd, also new. One full second skip, some missed subtitles, and few glitches. Yeah I'm returning it.
