Nothing fancy here, you plug it into the laptop and it works. Like all the other 90W adapters of this size, it gets hot when maxing out the computer.

I got what I bought. Seller even sent an adapter with the item. I am very happy.

Gordon was a little short, but it has worked well and fed my laptop that had died a week away.

This is the first review I have ever written, but I feel strongly about this product and want to share my experience. I have a HP dv8000 laptop. When my power cord died unexpectedly, I figured that buying a HP replacement was the way to go. I found out on the HP site what the correct replacement is and bought it. With my laptop, I needed the dongle, which is just an adapter which adds an extra component to the plug that is on the end of the cord (kind of like stereo headphone jack–making the small plug fit into a large port).
I was happy that I got the power cord in just a couple of days. I immediately plugged it in and it worked! But I soon discovered that not only was the new cord more that a foot and a half shorter than the old cord, but the extra weight and design of the dongle made the dongle unplug itself from my computer. If I moved my laptop at all, it unplugged. Once it disconnected when I was just surfing and not really moving at all. After the first day of using it and having it disconnect several times, no matter how careful I was, I purchased a different power cord (not HP) and I SENT THIS ONE BACK for a refund.
Before I bought both products, I read the reviews. Several people warned that they couldn’t get the HP product to stay plugged in, while several others glowed about how they haven’t had a single problem with it. I hoped I would be in the second group; I wasn’t. None of the pictures of the product showed what the dongle looked like or how it was an adapter because the power cord was not really meant for this computer. If you need the dongle to make this power cord work on your computer, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND YOU BUY THIS HP PRODUCT. I paid almost $30 for this HP brand and it was a disappointment. I spent $10 on a knock-off brand and it has been working beautifully (no dongle). I hope this help you make your decision.
